This is the first event recorded from the large BP complex - a group of connected bright points within the coronal hole that is about 100-150" in size and consists of multiple, small loop structures. The BP had evolved fairly slowly up to this point when some plasma appears to be ejected followed by the appearance of intense, expanding loops (i.e., a mini-CME seems to have occurred).
The EIS velocity feature extends over 130" to the edge of the raster and has a somewhat patchy appearance. The exposures showing the event were obtained between 23:00 and 23:24.
The AIA 193 data are best studied in terms of the difference movie which is shown for the period 22:30 to 24:00. This movie initially shows a bright white patch at Y=-700.This has dimmed by 23:00, with only a bright shell around the original location. Again in the difference movie, a long, narrow white feature is apparent from 23:05 to 23:20 at the left edge of the BP complex (X=-440). The feature has a kinked structure that is similar to the EIS feature, although the EIS velocity feature is much broader.
The AIA difference movie also shows weak, expanding loops at the
south of the BP complex over the period 22:58 to 23:12 (about Y=-760).
After the EIS scan of the complex has completed, significant dimming
of the BP complex occurs except for a set of off loops in the northern
part of the complex which brighten significantly and expand.
The AIA 304 movie shows that a kinked, dark loop (presumably a
filament) that rises from 22:30 until it disappears at 23:08.
The AIA morphology changes are quite similar to a CME in terms of the rising filament, dimming regions and brightening, expanding loops, but the the signature of ejected material in the AIA data is quite weak. The strong EIS velocity feature does however show that material is ejected, although only in a relatively narrow region.
Note that the XRT Ti-Poly movie shows very similar features to AIA 193.
If we consider the four patches in the EIS velocity images with the
largest velocities, then none of them show a strong blue-shifted
component but the line widths vary from 90 to 110 mA. The strongest
line asymmetries are in the patch second from the top where the
intensity is strongest.
