Planning week 20-27 Feb 2021

This is a regular planning week with three uploads.

The Sun was quiet with an active region (12803) near the NE limb. This was the default target for OP1. Two new active regions appeared on 22-Feb, and the northern of the two became the default target for OP2 and OP3.

Saturday 20 February (OP1)

I ran the study ar_evolution on AR 12803 at 11:46 (23 repeats) and 18:15 (30 repeats).

Sunday 21 February (OP1)

AIA 193 image

The study ar_evolution was run at 05:59 for 44 repeats and again at 18:01 for 30 repeats.

Monday 22 February (OP1)

The final run of ar_evolution on AR 12803 began at 06:15 for 21 repeats.

HOP 336 (Cycle 25 bright points) was supported at 12:02 (north) and 15:02 (south) with Large_CH_Map.

Four Atlas_60 spectral atlases on AR 12803 were scheduled at 18:17.

Tuesday 23 February (OP1)

The SYNOP008 study was run at disk center (quiet Sun) at 06:31.

Tuesday 23 February (OP2)

HOP 206 - polar panorama map - was supported at the south pole at 11:25 with HOP_81_raster.

HOP 130 was run between 18:15 and 23:30.

Wednesday 24 February (OP2)

HOP 408 - jets in quiet Sun - was run at disk center with the study Alignment_266 from 10:30 to 16:41. Note that the data rate is high so I had to run for a reduced period.

The new northern AR was observed with Cool_loop_resp_v2 from 18:08 (26 rasters).

Thursday 25 February (OP3)

The first of three Atlas_60 studies on AR 12804 was performed at 10:53, immediately followed by 180 repeats of pry_flare_2 just in case there are any microflares from this small AR.

HOP 396 (coordination with Chandrayaan XSM) was supported with 88 repeats of cam_flare_hot1_study at 18:09.

Friday 26 February (OP3)

I took advantage of HOP 349 to run Cool_loop_resp_v2 followed by two repeats of Cool_loop_stare_v2 on the northernmost extension of the south coronal hole (right at the bottom of the EIS field-of-view). The satellite has fixed pointing, so it will be a sit-n-drag rather than sit-n-stare.

The second Atlas_60 of the OP was run at 08:03 on AR 12804.

HOP 206 (polar panorama map) was supported with two repeats of HOP81_new_study at 11:06.

HOP 393 (cycle 24/25 transition) was supported at 23:02 UT with Large_CH_Map.

Saturday 27 February (OP3)

The final Atlas_60 of the OP was run at 06:58 on AR 12804.
