Active region maps
The three images below show active region AR 10926 which was
observed by EIS with a raster beginning at 02:46 UT on 2 December 2006.
The top image shows an intensity image of the active region obtained
from the Fe XII 195.12 A emission line (formed at 1.5 million K). The
middle image shows a line-of-sight velocity map derived from the same
emission line. Blue indicates plasma moving towards the observer, and
red plasma moving away from the observer. The bottom image shows a line
width map, again from the Fe XII emission line. Small line widths
correspond to dark blue, high line widths to yellow. The images
correspond to an area on the Sun of 370,000 km x 185,000 km.
